Morning Coffee: Suki na Senpai

Senpai! 
Today we are going to talk about the song that starts with that line, it is ofcourse Suki na Senpai!
Suki na Senpai is originally a song by Morning Musume's 5th generation for their 4th album, 4th "Ikimasshoi!". The song was about junior's loving their senior and asking him/her questions like: Am I pretty? Am I sexy? The junior is doubting herself and asking the senpai if she is doing well. 
5th gen was the youngest generation back then and the song became their generation song. It has been preformed by them several times. The song has even been preformed during all their graduation concerts. During Takahashi Ai's graduation concert Konno Asami and Ogawa Makoto came on stage to be with their generation members as they preformed the song. The song was also preformed during Niigaki's graduation concert, but by the then youngest generation.

Yet this song has become much more important than just being the 5th generation's theme song. When 6th generation joined, the three new members (Kamei Eri, Michishige Sayumi & Tanaka Reina) preformed the song. After this all generations that had more than one member started to preform this song during their first concert tour. Only Kusumi Koharu (7th gen), Mitsui Aika (8th gen) and Oda Sakura (11th gen) haven't preformed the song. Mitsui Aika officially had two generation mates, but they joined her after two singles and Mitsui's first concert tour.
Another time this song was preformed by a new generation was when 2nd generation S/mileage preformed it during the Hello!Pro winter concert of 2012. No other new generation has preformed Suki na Senpai. 
A lot of the generations that preformed this song still feel emotionally connected to it. It was for most of them the first song they preformed as a generation. 9th gen and 2nd gen S/mileage both preformed the song during their anniversaries in 2015.

Tsubaki Factory- 17sai

As I told you guys before: Tsubaki Factor is a group I adored from the very start. They are currently preforming an old song from Moritaka Chisato called 17sai and it's from 1989. When I first heared them preform the song I was really suprised. It is such a classic sounding song, but it fitted them so well. The group is rater unpolished and you could hear how nervous they all were. But I think they all sound pretty good and I think they will soon be amazing.  The song really grabbed me and now I am addicted to both Tsubaki Factory's and Moritaka-san's version. It's a very happy and catchy song, so please give a listen to it if you like! In this episode we have a preformance of the song and below is an audio track from Moritaka Chisato's version from 1989.

2016 Member Ranking- Morning Musume '16

Let us rank some more.  Last time we still had Rihoriho and Zukki by our sides. Now we are two members down and a lot has happend. I wonder how my ranking changed with the members! Morning Musume '16 Number 11 Haga Akane is the first girl on the list. She dropped two places and is now the lowest ranking Morning Musume member. Akane is adorable, yet she failes to impress me in any way. I don't really enjoy her voice, nor her preformance. She looks so shy and eventhough she has been with Morning Musume for 2 years, she still acts like a newbie. I really hope she will grow more once she gets some Kouhai to take care of.  Number 10 Makino Maria went up a place. I'll be honest, I am starting to see her charm and beauty, which makes me really happy. I jus want her to grow a bit more mature and than she might go up more. She really has a cute face and she can look impressively beautiful. Now we just need to hear her singing more.  Number 9 Ah,
