Thank you Very Berry: H!P Kids
H!P Kids
In 2002, 15 young girls were choosen to become members of Hello!Project.
Eight of these girls grew up to become Berryz Koubou members and the other seven became C-ute.
The members participated in several events and they danced in the background.
The members were: Umeda Erika, Shimizu Saki, Yajima Maimi, Tsugunaga Momoko, Tokunaga Chinami, Murakami Megumi, Sudo Maasa, Natsuyaki Miyabi, Ishimura Maiha, Kumai Yurina, Nakajima Saki, Sugaya Risako, Suzuki Airi, Okai Chisato and Hagiwara Mai. (Red being Berryz Koubou Members, Blue being C-ute members).
The girls were intoduced in a song with Morning Musume and Goto Maki: Ganbacchae!
The song was released for the movie Koinu Dan no Monogatari (Little dog Dan's Story). 11 of the 15 H!P Kids participated in this movie, with Saki and Momoko having the main role. Maasa, Risako, Airi and Mai weren't in the movie, because they were filming for the Mini moni movie. They formed the unit 4KIDS for this.
Some of the members also became members of other units. Miyabi and Airi became part of the unit Aa! with Tanaka Reina (MM). They released one single. Erika. Saki, Maimi, Momoko and Megumi became part of the unit ZYX with Yaguchi Mari (MM) as their leader. This group released two singles. Both groups stopped activities when Berryz Koubou was formed.
After the forming of Berryz Koubou, the remaining 7 members remained H!P Kids and formed C-ute later on. Arihana Kana joined C-ute, but she was never part of H!P Kids.
After the forming of both groups Erika, Megumi and Maiha all left or graduated one of the groups. This means only 12 members of the original 15 are left. These members formed Berikyuu in 2011. They released two singles under that name (Amazuppai Haru ni Sakura Saku and Chou HAPPY SONG) and one digital single (Seishun Gekijou). The group visited Europe togheter and released an album for this event. The album was a best of album, with songs choosen by European fans.
H!P Kids have been in Hello!Project for almost 13 years and now 6 of the remaining members will leave (Momoko is ofcourse staying with Country Girls). I really loved the whole concept this group of kids had and I really love how they still get along so well. It will be sad seeing C-ute say goodbye to friends they had for most of their lives.
