Music Column: Morning Musume album songs that should have been singles.

Afbeelding
Morning Musume has 14 albums by now and quite a few best of albums. These albums have a lot of songs that fans hold dear and a lot of songs that would have made great singles. Today we are going to look at some album songs that could have been amazing singles. Mind you, this is completely my opinion, so tell me if I miss something or you have a different one! First let me start with the difference between an album song and a single song (in my opinion). Album songs are usually songs that are harder to promote with an MV or that lack the wow factor and single needs to sell. Single songs are usually more focused on the main members (ace/center, what ever you wanna call it), while during album songs others get a chance to shine too. Yet there are some songs that could have had that WOW factor if only given the chance and that's what I wanna share with you. Some songs are amazing and great, yet they fit an album better. Fantasy Juuichi is an album which a lot of fans fel...

Music Column: Should Juice=Juice add a second generation?

Juice=Juice had their first Budokan concert last week and a lot of fans assumed their would be a big announcement. Yet there was non.  I asked myself the question: did I expect an announcement? Did I want an announcement?  I came to the conclusion that I did expect and wanted an announcement. Juice=Juice is a great group. All members are great, interesting and vocally on point. The group is visually nice to look at and have a lot of interesting songs on their sleeves.  Yet with everything happening to C-ute, Momusu, ANGERME, Country Girls and Tsubaki, they are kind of in the shadows of all the other groups. They haven't had any line-up changes since Aina left and this year they only had their drama and Budokan as high lights.  Within the J-pop world a group has to stand out to get fans and get attention. A lot of groups do this by changing their line-up once in a while, but should Juice=Juice do this?  It's an incredible hard question. Should Ju...

Morning Musume will drop their new single in just 11 days! I am here today to talk to you guys about one of the A-sides and especially the girl centering it.  Ofcourse I am talking about Sou Ja nai, the third a-side of Sexy Cat no Enzetsu/ Mukidashi de Mukiatte/ Sou ja nai.  Let's start with the facts:  1. Makino Maria was choosen to be the center of the song,  2. This is Makino Maria's first center song.  3. Tsunku was asked by management to write a song for Maria.  4. When the title of the single was first announced, Sou ja nai would be the main a-side.  5. Sou ja nai was later moved to be the third a-side. 6. Sou ja nai's MV was the second MV for this single to be released. 7. Sou ja nai was the first song preformed of this single. This article will mainly focus on the question: does this song mean Makino Maria is the new Ace of Morning Musume and my opinion about this.  Sou ja nai is pretty much a 100% Mornin...

Music Column: H!P vs. AKB

Today I might be doing one of my most difficult blog posts EVER. I am going to talk to you guys about H!P vs. AKB, which might be one of the biggest fights among idol fans I have come past. Let's start of this post with the next few statements: 1. I love Hello!Project and AKB48.  2. This is my opinion on the matter. 3. Tsunku and Aki-p are friends, so no hate! Hello!Project was the first actual form of Japanese Idols I ever came across. I fell in love with their songs, their preformances and everything around it. I officially got into Hello!Project just before Kusumi Koharu left (2009). I had actually liked Kirari and Buono! for way longer, but that's not important right now. I loved Hello!Project and I spend a lot of time remembering names and faces. Around this time I had never ever heared of AKB. It was around that time I also got into fandubbing/covering and I covered a lot of Hello!Pro. I was a member of quite some cover groups and one of them also did AKB48...

Hello hello everyone! Today we are going to have a little look into my Itunes playlist! I want to show you the song that are at the top of my playlist, so you get an idea of what songs I enjoy and what I think are the best songs on my playlist! Currently I have 626 songs, which will last me for 1.7 days! So here we go with number 10: With 77 listens: Two songs have 77 listens (After this post both 78!). Blue Bird by Ikimono Gakari and Jane Doe by Takahashi Minami ! I love these songs. Blue Bird caught my attention due to Taiko no Tatsujin. I thought it was a really cool song, with amazing vocals and beat. Jane Doe, I don't remember how I came by it. I think it might have been because on this CD Takamina covered Migikata, which is one of my favorite songs ever. So the song was on my to listen list and made it this far because it's amazing. I love the really cool and kind of tragic feel. If I had to choose between one of these song, I wouldn't choose. Th...

Music Column: Rosewood no Kokuhaku

10 members of Morning Musume are currently preforming in a musical called Triangle. The musical ofcourse has a lot of songs and I wanted to talk about one of them with you today. Rosewood no Kokuhaku This song has given me life. I can't explain to you how this song makes me feel.  First of all, Sakura has the lead in this song as Rosewood. Her voice fits the song so good and she shows of her skills so amazing. BUT Ayumi is also singing. She is Princess Sakura (yes yes, it's kinda weird) and I have never known how amazing this girl can sing. When she started singing my jaw dropped. I know Sakura has an amazing voice and I like Ayumin's voice, but this was something else. Ayumi sounds so clear, fresh and honest. For me this song is really something. I have had it on repeat for three full days I think? I can enjoy every little thing Sakura does with her voice, the emotion she putts in it. While Ayumi's part is refreshing. I really love the higher parts and t...

It has been a while since I told you guys what my current favorite songs are! Let's have a look at them! SKE48- Pareo wa Emerald Pareo wa Emerald is the 6th single of SKE48. I haven't really been going through all the songs from the sister groups of AKB48, so there is a lot of music that is still new for me.  So is Paro wa Emerald. I saw somewhere that JKT48 was going to release this song as their 9th single and I searched for it.  This song is a very happy and summery song. It's kind of a typical 48group bikini single. And I adore those songs! I really like how it really makes you feel all warm and ready for summer. I really love how they sing Emerald xD!  If you don't know the song: Please check it out! JKT48- Pareo is your Emerald Above video is the Indonesian version, but I mean the English version. Overall I am more of the Japanese sister groups, but once in a while I give SNH48 and JKT48 a try. I really love that JKT48 releases their son...

Music Column: Current favorite listens

Goodday everybody! Today I wanna tell you about some songs I am currently very very addicted to! Usually I kinda get myself some music and putt it in my itunes and listen to it. I had a lot of AKB48 songs in there, the new Kenshuusei album and some recent H!P singles.  First up is: Maeda Atsuko- Migikata I never really listened to the solo works of AKB members, but Acchan was the first one. I really loved Flower and Time Machine Nante Iranai, but I never really looked for more. While checking out Takahashi Minami's single Jane Doe (gonna talk about this one later), I found Migikata. I prefer Acchan's voice over Takamina's (although I love how raw her voice sounds) and when I found out it's her song originally, I knew it was gonna grap me and it did. Migikata has a very sweet tone and the instruments give the song a very homey feel. The first time I heared this song, it felt like I was coming home. The instruments and Acchan's voice make this song a pe...

Music Column: Dream Last Train

Hello Lovely readers, Today is the start of my first column or however you wanna call it~!  This column will be about music. Songs I like, things I cover or musical gets.  This will moslty be H!P, AKB and Disney. But sometimes I write about other music! Today we will be talking about Dream Last Train. Once in a while you have this one song that grabs you. You just wanna listen to it all day and sing it as much as possible. That happend when I first heared Dream Last Train by Satoyama Unit Triplet.  I have to be honest: I wasn't that excited about this group. Chisato is the only member of this group who I really loved and well the preview of this group didn't really grab me. But when I heared the song and saw the video clip it just got to me. The whole idea of the last train to your dream is so beautiful. I really really adored how Kudo regrabbed my intrest in this song and now she is creeping up my favorites.  Here is the Music Video (another ver.) o...
